cant seem to figure this out!

Published by skiweaver9 at 8:08 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I am trying to make a marble 1/2 sheet cake. The one I made last weekend was too dry so I am back to the drawing board.  I am trying to basically figure out how many cups of batter it takes for 1 layer of a 1/2 18×12x2 sheet cake. I am reading that it is 7-7.75 cups PER layer (15.5 cups for the pan total), which would mean 1 normal recipe per layer. For some reason I am thinking this is not enough. I made the cake bibles “checkerboard fantasy cake” and used one whole recipe to make 1 layer of the sheet cake and it was the perfect amount. The problem is, I don’t know how many cups of batter that recipe made! It doesn’t say in the book! If anyone knows the answer to this question, it would be greatly appreciated as I am coming down to the wire to figure this out.  If it doesn’t work after this weekend- BOXED cake mixes it is!!  Unfortunately, thats not what I want to do, but if I have to, I will.
