with it snowing like crazy on every day that you have a party planned?!?!??  Last week when we had my boyfriends CHristmas party to go to, it snowed so bad that literally the entire state stopped moving. Businesses closed early, schools were all closed, signal lights were out, the roads were treacherous!!  Of course, with my luck the party got cancelled. I was looking forward to that party for an entire YEAR. 

So anyways, that has passed and today is New Years Eve. Another day where we get out of work early and get to go out tonight with friends to eat, drink and be merry. SO i wake up this morning and there is 6 inches of snow on the ground. I could barely make it to work in my little car, and it is still continuing to snow out. I can just see what is going to happen now. I am going to get out of work early (like I knew i would) and im going to have to go home and SHOVEL my driveway because I won’t be able to get my car in it without shoveling. Then, all the new years parties will be cancelled and I will end up sitting home doing nothing. Once again, I dont know why I live in this shitty city. You can’t ever count on good weather and when you have plans that are INDOOR it ONCE again get ruined by the BAD weather. FUCK this place.

I am so happy that this week is another short week. tomorrow is new years eve (so much fun) and then new years day everyone has off. good thing about new years day is that there is nothing to do (at least in my family) so it will be a PURE day of relaxing!! Maybe taking the christmas tree down, maybe just watching movies. Then to start the new year. I need a new years resolution…i can’t seem to think of one though. Any ideas? 
The other thing that sucks about new years is that there are no more good holidays for a LONG time.  No more days off work until what….thanksgiving again? It seems like all the holidays are packed into October-December. Why is that? Good thing we have vacation time!!  I think everyone should also have off on their birthday. Actually, no nevermind, i like going to work on birthdays. I like cards/presents and cake!!  In fact, i think it is one day that people actually like to go to work. Am i right?

So there is this place called Davids Cookies that is somewhere in downstate NY. A particular client of ours here at work always orders us a box of cookies from this place every year for CHristmas and I must say,these are some of the best baked goods I have ever eaten!!!  So the box arrived on friday. I could see “Davids Cookies” written on the outside of the UPS box and I literally TORE this thing open. There were peanut butter cookies, chocolate cookies, oatmeal raisen, macadamian nut, and brownies.  So I ate 2 cookies and then a brownie. The brownie was so big it was like a brick hitting my stomach. It was soo good. So then I get on to see their nutrition information. Last year at this time, it said “Coming soon” on their web site so I figured by now it should be up.  I go to nutrition info to find out how many caloires are in that brownie and - “coming soon” popped up again. That really sucks. I really want to know how many calories are packed into these killer brownies. Anyone know??

anyone ever notice that when you wear a pretty gym outfit you tend to work out a little harder? Maybe its just me, but I noticed that when i feel like i LOOK good, I work out harder. Its not even like I am trying to impress anyone- there aren’t even any guys at my gym!  its just weird, it must be a mind thing. Anyways so I have a new outfit (mind you- each PIECE of these outfits cost $40-45) and I wore it to the gym today. i worked out good lol.  I would love a shopping spree to dicks or something so that I could go buy a million different outfits. Then I would go to the gym every day!! Well maybe not….

After I just ate a snickers bar, maybe I should.  We will thank the holidays for my good eating skills lol.

So christmas went well. I got a LOT OF good stuff, and I got to see all my family and my boyfriends family.  Only one family member of my family didnt attend christmas eve and that was my aunt and uncle because he broke his hip the other day. Other than that, everyone was there. We ate tons of food, played cards, played with the kids, it was great! Then on christmas day, it repeated itself except at a differnt house. In fact, 2 different houses. People spent way too much money on CHristmas this year (I thought the economy was bad??).  All in all, it was a very good Christmas, and I can’t wait until next year!!  HAHA, actually I can’t wait until New Years eve so we can do it all over again.  IN the meantime, today is the day after and I am at work. I am the only one in the office actually. That kinda sucks. I think most people are shopping today.

So today is a short work day. I only have to stay until 1pm. Funny thing is, I normally come in at 8am, and today i was here at 7:30!! Probably because I didnt sleep at ALL last night, literally up every hour. Not sure why- maybe excitement. 

So anyways, i got here and i am looking forward to leaving! My boss isn’t coming in today, he is going skiing with his daughter. I am glad that he trusts me here as much as he does, and its nice knowing that you have the ability to run the office, and your boss knows this. That makes for a good day. Yesterday at work- ‘work wise’ it wasn’t a great day. I had to tell a couple people some bad news- right before the holiday. I feel  horrible doing it, and even though its not my fault i WISH that I didn’t have to tell them what I did. Frankly, it changed their entire list of plans. I hate being the bad guy, and even though i am not the one who causes problems, i am the middle man who has to sound like an idiot.

OH well, we can only hope today is better.

I am so excited for tomorrow. Especially since christmas eve is usually a short workday. Today is the last full workday until friday. I am not sure if the banks are even open on friday, but we will see. Either way, its gonna be slow. Well i hope its not slow because I want today to FLY BY!! That way, I go to the gym (BTW, this week is a short GYM week too) and then I’m off again until friday. You should see the gym lately. EMPTY. Apparently, only the die hards continue to go this time of year.  The problem is, a lot of people get gym memberships for christmas so after the new year, the gym is going to be PACKED. Then around springtime and summer everyone drops out again, and there is actually room for die hards like me. It annoys me that people can’t stick to anything. Even my friends, they gave up, stopped going, and now I go alone again. But i give myself props, at least I can motivate myself to keep going. That way, I am allowed to pig out on christmas!!

So Christmas is coming soon, and I am so excited. Mostly i am excited for Christmas Eve. My mom’s side of the family are getting together at my moms house. We really haven’t been together as a whole in about a year, if not longer. For some reason no one can seem to get together at the same time on any holiday, or any other day of the year, so everyone puts aside Christmas Eve to do so.  We have so much food on this night (I usually get a stomach ache), and there are new kids in the family (three of them actually). I am so excited to see my nephew, as I dont get to see him THAT much, since he lives about 50 minutes away.  I am excited to play Euchre with my uncle (as its been about 3 years since that) but I am just most excited to see everyone.  I dont care about presents, or anything, i just want to chat away!!  And take pictures, lots of pictures. Christmas day is fun too, but not as fun as christmas eve. What sucks about CHirstmas day is that everyone has to work the day after, so they can’t hang out as long as they would like (especially us since we are going to travel an hour away). Its too bad Christmas wasn’t on a friday, THAT would be cool.

So today there is a big snow storm. I woke up this morning and there was no snow from last night. Then when I got to work (around 8am) it started snowing. Its now 12:02pm and its STILL snowing. It hasn’t let up or stop at all since i’ve been here. On the radar there is a huge blue ‘cloud’ of snow over NY and surrounding areas. apparently we are going to get 12 inches by 9pm tonight.  Normally this wouldn’t bother me so much (except for the fact I will have to shovel and stuff) but tonght was my boyfriends work christmas party which I was looking forward to for a YEAR now. I didn’t get to go last year (due to weird circumstances) so I was looking forward to make up for it this year and bam! a snow storm.

Rochester weather sucks. In the summer you can’t plan anything outside beucase it probably will rain, and in the winter even when you have an indoor event, it gets screwed up because of weather advisories. You can’t ever win.

So the rates have dropped as many of you might have seen. This makes me feel so much better. Maybe the economy will change for the better (its got to someday)…maybe sooner than later.

People still want the american dream, which is to buy a house. I dont think that will ever change- even if the rates go up to 10%. The thing is, the rates stil have been really good, but I think people are just afraid. Afraid to spend money, afraid to have that american dream. I blame a lot of this on the news. I think they shouldnt have any news about the economy on TV as much as they do. It just makes people worried and have negative thoughts. There is no reason taht people should have to see how ‘bad our world is’ on a daily basis….or a couply times a day even.  Imagine if everyone just saw the good in the world….they might have more positive thoughts. They say that the more positive you think, the more positives that happen. Its the law of allowance.  You have to allow yourself to have happy thoughts, so you can Allow the universe to deliver. Abraham says so, and I fully beleive it.
